Discussion groups are meant to involve the entire GateWay community--students, faculty and staff—as a way to develop and support a community of learners in issues or topics that are important to us. These groups are also important because they show that learning also takes place outside of the classroom. One discussion group we will always have each year is the Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society’s theme. This year the theme is "The Pursuit of Happiness: Conflicting Visions and Values." But other discussion groups will be created as faculty, staff and students identify other issues that are important to us as a college, such as multiculturalism, leadership and service learning.
