Erythrocytes Infected With Plasmodium vivax Parasite


Malaria     In this specimen, several erythrocytes can be seen infected with Plasmodium vivax, the intracellular parasite that causes malaria.

There is also a polymorphonuclear neutrophil at the far right of the field of view.
