Histology Review - Simple Squamous
 |
|
This is a surface view of SIMPLE SQUAMOUS epithelium at 400X magnification.
The dark blue objects are the nuclei of each cell.
Also visible are the plasma membranes (dark lines) separating each cell and the cytoplasm of each cell (light areas around the nuclei).
This thin tissue forms serous membranes covering walls of body cavities and interal organs, as well as other structures, like the Bowman's capsules in the kidney shown in the next slide.
